Hey Sprites, anything major happen in the last five years?

May 2019 at once feels like it was yesterday and one hundred years ago — not five. Do you remember turning our tassels and rings and thinking, wow. I can’t wait to start the rest of my life, go to grad school, start a career, start exploring the world — and then, like, eight months later, everything was put on pause? And amid a global pandemic, massive social and political change, wars, and elections, we had to figure out how to navigate a job market, move cities or stay in one place, graduate, or switch careers entirely.

To say it’s been an eventful five years is the understatement of the century. So let’s do what Sprites does best—return to ole Agnes Scott, reconnect, and have a good time.

We’ve got a great weekend planned. This Alumnae Weekend, April 19 – 20, 2024, we’re gonna party like it’s 2019. Or if partying was never your thing, head back to class with old professors, commiserate about GFLI (we’ll never let it go!), and hang out with so many cool alumnae from days of yore. Plus, I hear Canadian Zoey is making something that rhymes with shmreen shmello shmots.

Friday, April 18th:

• Lunch in Evans 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m
• Back-to-Class Sessions 2:45-4 p.m
• Meet the Faculty Reception: 4-5:30 p.m
• New Millennium party: 6-8 p.m.
• All-Alumnae Dance Party & Hub Sing: beginning with Hub Sing at 8:00 pm

Saturday, April 19th:

• Class Meeting: 9:30–10:30 am.
• Alumnae Convocation: 11 am
• Parade of the Classes: 12:15 pm
• Alumnae Weekend Luncheon: 12:15 pm
• Campus Tours: 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm & 4:30 pm
• Affinity Group Teas and Gatherings: 2:30–4:30 pm
  • Former Student-Athlete Gathering
  • Lavender Tea (LGBTQ+ Alumnae, Guests and Allies)
  • Witkaze/Black Alumnae Tea (Black Alumnae and Guests)
  • Mosaic Tea (Alumnae and Guests who identify as Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander and/or Native American)
• President’s Home Open House: 2:30–4:30 pm
• Class Party in Dana: 7:30–10:30 pm

Lastly, please consider donating to the Fund for Agnes Scott. The goal for our class is to have as many people donate as possible, even if it’s just $1.90 (For 2019).

It’s hard to believe that it has been 5 years since we graduated from Agnes Scott. During this time, so much has changed not just in our personal lives, but on a global scale as well. This year we have the opportunity to reconnect back on campus as we celebrate our 5-year reunion.

Alumnae Weekend will take place April 19-20, 2024. We have a number of activities planned including our class party which will take place in the Dalton Art Gallery of Dana Fine Arts Center. If you are interested in helping us with this event feel free to reach out to one of the officers and we can put you on the reunion committee.
