Solid Gold Dancers

Letter from Your President

Hello Solid Gold Dancers!

Here we are again. Another five years have gone by, and we stand thirty years after our graduation. We have all accomplished so much – in our careers, in our personal and family lives, in service to our communities. We want to give you the chance to celebrate your achievements and reconnect with old friends at our upcoming 30-year reunion! Alumnae Weekend is scheduled for April 16-17, 2027, so mark your calendars and plan to attend! All your favorites will return: the Hub Sing in Alston, the unforgettable class meeting, and most of all the class party, which returns to the fabulous Trellis Garden alongside Alston.

If you haven’t been back to campus or Decatur recently, I strongly encourage you to make the time for a visit. I stayed in downtown Decatur for Reunion Boot Camp this summer, and it is an entirely new experience. The new and renovated buildings on campus make that a lovely blend between our old memories and the innovation Agnes Scott is known for. Visiting the campus made me so proud of what the college has accomplished along with us.

I also want to thank you personally and on behalf of our Fund Chairs for your participation in the Fall Giving Campaign. Your gifts are what allow the college to continue to respond to the times we all see around us. If you haven’t had a chance to make a gift, please participate with any amount you can manage. All participation benefits the College and especially the students.

Finally, our Reunion Committee is hard at work planning everything for this spring. We have both intrepid Lockharts (Lucien and Amanda, no relation) on the case, as well as the other class officers. I know all of you want to participate, so start deciding who we are going to elect to replace me when I retire my presidency in April. Please assist us now in finding any “lost classmates” and updating your own information with the college so you receive the latest news and reunion updates.

I’ll meet you in Alston this spring!
